BUFFALO, NY – Since we so rarely sent out blasts to the 1757 people on our Facebook Fan Page I thought I’d share with you the text that was sent out this morning (with just a few hyperlinks added). The subject was: “An update and thanks for supporting MHD.” Ryan drafted the bulk of it and Jason and I only tweaked it, so props go to him. We have some exciting (and not so exciting) news to share with you.

First the bad: While attempting to travel through the Vermont-Quebec, Canada border checkpoint on Thursday, MHD was detained for over five hours, interrogated and groped, MARV searched and ransacked, computers and other possessions surveilled, and the crew was ultimately refused entry. The Jones County, MS incident was cited as the reason. More information can be found here: http://motorhomediaries.com/ohhhhh-canada/ To all the Canadian freedom lovers that we will not be able to connect with at our Montreal, Toronto and Windsor meet ups and at the Liberty Summer Seminar in Orono, we’re saddened by this unfortunate turn of events but we know y’all will continue to fight the good fight.

Now to better news: Web developer Blake Imeson has generously offered his time and expertise to reformat the MHD homepage. Thanks to Blake and tech-guru Mike Gogulski, the site is now more functional and navigable. If you haven’t already, please check it out: http://motorhomediaries.com

Also, with the aim of introducing more people to the ideas of liberty we’ve been fortunate to have some stellar folks step-up to help us proactively reach out to media outlets prior to our arrival in their area. This team, led by Mike Powers, includes Adam Mueller, Allison Gibbs and Leah Patrick.

Recently, we announced our itinerary for the next three months. We’ve added information for meet ups on the Events section of our Facebook Fan Page. You can check there to see if we are coming to or near your city. Note that we plan to send a message to those in cities for which we have events scheduled, including a direct link to the event page. And, as always, if you have ideas for stories we should cover along our route please let us know.

To date, MHD has produced 110 videos – approximately one video a day. Currently, we have 417 YouTube subscribers, 464 Twitter followers, and 1,757 Facebook Fans. Our ability to travel, arrange interviews, broadcast media, and host meet ups is directly dependent on your active participation. With your help, the ideas of freedom will reach more minds.
