The Wheels on The Bus Go Round & Round… But for How Long?

UPDATE FROM MHD: Due to some local knowledge, provided by Chip Irby, we not only found tires today but had them installed. This was done at a local shop called Delk’s Tire Sales & Service in Hattiesburg, MS. The total cost to us was only $181.90 so we’ve already exceeded the cost of the tire drive. We’ve already raised $285 thanks to the generosity of many of ya’ll so we are able to end the tire fundraiser now.  We are grateful for all of your support and hope you continue to like our work. If so, please consider a future donation to fill MARV’s gas tank to keep us rolling and searching for freedom in america. Thanks!

JONES COUNTY, MS – We’re doing something today that, except for our run-in with the Jones County Sheriff’s Department (when cash was needed to post our bond), we haven’t done before: ask for your help for a specific thing – new tires.

The 15,000 miles we’ve logged since hitting the road to search for freedom has taken a toll on MARV’s tires, especially the back tires, all of which have cracks on their sidewalls and one even has a big gouge. None of us claim to be gearheads but it appears that though these tires had a good amount of tread left when we bought MARV, they had been purchased some time ago, so the rubber may have been degraded due to the sun and age.

We need to replace the two outside tires rear tires, which could be as expensive as $300 per tire (for new, we may be able to snag used tires for ~$200/each) – a figure that will cost MHD more than it currently has in it’s PayPal account (which is sitting around $300 – enough for one tire or two tanks of gas). By taking care of MARV we can continue to produce content that exposes the government as the violent institution it is and profile many of the individuals promoting a voluntary society. And it’ll help give us a piece of mind and maybe even prevent an accident due to a blow-out.

The tires are size 225/70R19.5. Thanks so much for your help!

  1. Here is your line of questioning for the cop:
The Supreme Court has made all kinds of rulings regarding what they think the Constitution should mean. For example, the court ruled that black people have to go to different schools than white people in Brown VS Board of Education. Given that the Supreme court can change the meaning of the words of the Constitution, even changing the “you can’t search people” right into “you can search people if you claim you can talk to dogs” Are you enough of an expert on these supreme court rulings to know exactly what these men’s Constitutional rights are?
if he answers: “Yes, I am an expert on the Constitution” then he has admitted that he conspired to violate your rights. (Federal Felony) If he answers NO, then you have him admitting he doesn’t have the skills necessary to enforce the law, and can be sued.

  2. Hey! Thanks to everyone that’s donated thus far! It really means a lot.

I just wanted to keep everyone in the loop – Chip Irby (http://motorhomediaries.com/chip-irby/) called us this morning to let us know that a friend may be able to hook us up with a deal on a pair of used tires. Jason and Adam are cruising south toward Hattiesburg now to hopefully make this a reality.

We’ll keep you updated but it sounds like we may not need the entire $600 so if you’re strapped for cash yourself you may want to hold off on helping us w/ our tire fundraiser.

  3. What would The Motorhome Diaries be without tires?…The Walking home diaries :(
