Lysander Spooner, Abolitionist & Scholar, Lives On
BOSTON, MA – Lysander Spooner, born in 1808 in central Mass. was a freedom fighter in its truest sense. His writings and actions continue to inspire many, including myself and the others aboard MARV. A noted abolitionist that relied on natural law, he opposed tyranny in every form, including that which stems from government and its very existence.
Less than 100 years after the U.S. Constitution had been ratified he wrote that like any contract, it had no authority over him nor anyone else that did not sign it. This, and many other writings helped set the foundations for the freedom movement today. Yet he was not just an armchair philosopher but stood up for his beliefs. He directly challenged the U.S. Postal monopoly by founding a company that directly competed with it that was both more-efficient and less-expensive, until he was forced to close it after being relentlessly sued by the government (he was using his own money to defend himself while the government relied on taxpayer money, which they had stolen from others). He also challenged occupational licensing laws, seeing no reason that he could not act as a lawyer should others choose to employ him as such despite the fact that he did not jump through the requirements set by bureaucrats.
That’s why yesterday, we made sure we stopped by his gravesite to pay our respects and to let him know that we and many others are continuing to advance the ideas he advocated.

Spooner’s genius lives on. He and Rothbard are the closest thing to heroes that I have.
I couldn’t agree more Rob.
Mr. Nolan believes in persuasion. So do I, … “ruthless” persuasion!
And this ‘Dec 11th hour’ group of his has potential, if for nothing else than to further dissipate his remaining life’s energies in continuing to kick a bored, lazy, diseased, depressed, near petrified (though still only middle-aged) horse to death. Here’s something that could truly revive it, however.
See, competition is the strongest force for “persuasion” in the Universe, as Spooner and so many died persecuted while promoting, … which honest libertarians know, at least modernly, from their armchairs. Though we should understand that only within the dynamics of business (man’s highest, most valuable activity) “Gov. Inc.” is where we will prove all that we espouse we believe about wondrous, human nature, & true, action-oriented intellect, nonetheless, it’s well-past high noon to put our rubber on the road. (Like the pun, boys? Tee-Hee.)
Bureaucratic, force, threat, coercion, & fraud, politics is clearly the greatest bogus dissipator of all human energy & life by contrast, clearly evidenced in the death/tax-orienting gulag that humans have trapped themselves deeply under since Plato’s 600 BC. Now we watch on in what ought to be jaw-dropping horror, as the LP has been turning to salt before our very eyes. Here’s something that will help Mr. Nolan & all the rest of us avoid that otherwise near-certain fate. Will all the armchair “intellectuals” everywhere be horrified to see this predictable development; though they have long known it should be already behind us?
To wit: there is a young “stallion” coming down the track which Mr. Nolan & all the rest of us had better ought throw our full weight behind, if he honestly wants to get the older horse to pick it up, run straight & true well past midnight, and quit looking behind.
After following this Party for over 2 decades, I know what I’m talking about. I also know what writing on my next ballot here in Red Canaduh, … regardless of whether they even bother to try to get establishment-registered or not (personally):
This development promises to truly separates the quisling parasites from the sublime producers, wouldn’t you agree? This in mind, it’ll be more than interesting to see how certain groups react (egs, RTR, C4L, Cato, Birch, Infowars, …) Short of being “suicided,” I’ll be making sure to stoke this fire. Anyone looking for the vision of just how things in society might work & feel after such a cosmically benevolent “regime change”, read this leader’s fictional work, (my fave, among other similar writings, at:
I ask in the meantime, “Who is too entrenched in this world’s anti-civilization, hypnotized, deafened, & blinded by death & taxes, to be able to see this as the most hopeful development on Earth” ~ at least since before Great, Great, Grampie Ben mortgaged all ol’ Uncle Sam’s children away?
Indeed, where in the world will be built the strongest bastion to productive human life yet? Will it even be in the “USSA.” I hear Iran is not overly pleased with things at the moment, & our new eastern komrades haven’t taken much of a shining to idiocracy’s imported oppressions. Perhaps even Raul is looking for some new answers? Imagine what will occur after Red China’s sublime bees, or India’s business class get wind of true civilization! Suffice to say, it’s all about whom will exert the brain-sweating, super-effort-exertion of the best competition now, folks! Because Michelle/David/Zebrignew/Henry’s shiny new runner-boy, Kenyan Barry, hasn’t seen anything yet!
Luv & highest regards, all,
