Pimping our MARV

I woke this morning with a bit more excitement than most. Today I was taking MARV for his 8:30 am graphics appointment. As Pete has mentioned in a earlier post, we are giving MARV a New Look while here in Birmingham. A special thanks goes out to Laurie Paravati, of Armor For Activists, who worked very hard to perfect our graphic with all of our input.

Just after 8:30 a.m. MARV and I arrived at Alotta Graphics, LLC. I was greeted by Chris Woodham, owner of the graphics shop, who got right to work. He gave me directions to pull MARV around back and helped guide me into the work area.  Chris was ready to stick on the first graphic after some light prep work.

I was slightly worried at first because since this graphic is nearly 6 x 6 ft I didn’t know how Chris was going to do this by himself. He assured me that he had been doing graphics for almost 10 years and he had done bigger ones with no help. The first graphic took a bit, there were a lot of cuts and things to go around, but Chris stated that he liked to get the hard one out of the way first.  Boy was he right, it only took about a 1/3 of the time for him to put up the other side.

At that point I called Jason and Pete to tell them to come on down and check it out. When they arrived at the shop (on foot) I watched their faces light up with expressions of joy. They both seemed happy with the new look of MARV. It took many conversations, feedback and input from a lot of people, and a few days of work but we are well on our way to turn our RV into a mobile billboard for liberty. All for under $1,000!

Thanks to the donors who earmarked money to pimp our MARV and to the awesome Jason Osborne, whose Sakal Cai just became a sponsor of the Motorhome Diaries. If you or your organization is interested in becoming a sponsor we’d like to hear from you. And stay tuned because in the near future we’re going to unveil an auction so that you can become a sponsor by buying an ad.

  8. I think it looks much better now. It has a very professional vibe. Maybe enough to give a pig second thoughts about pulling you over.

  9. Mike Gogulski is correct. There needs to be a greater commitment to recursive artwork. lol
