MHD on Freedom Watch

Today Jason and I had the privilege of being on Judge Napolitano’s Freedom Watch on Fox.

Judge Napolitano, the senior legal analyst at Fox News, gave us some good legal advice on the supreme courts ruling in Arizona v. Gant. According to Wikipedia:

Arizona v. Gant, 556 U.S. ___ (2009), was a United States Supreme Court decision which held that the Fourth Amendment to the United States Constitution requires law enforcement officers to demonstrate an actual and continuing threat to their safety posed by an arrestee, or a need to preserve evidence related to the crime of arrest from tampering by the arrestee, in order to justify a warrantless vehicular search incident to arrest conducted after the vehicle’s recent occupants have been arrested and secured.

Thanks for having us on the show and for the legal tip!

  1. hey guys give us a date on your return trip and we’ll try and orginize a freedom march, festival, cookout or something.

  2. Great Show GUYS!!!

I am so glad you are safe and fighting the good fight! You should ask the Judge to put a logo on MARV!!

Can’t wait to see you next time you are in Austin!

    In liberty and learning,
    Rachel

  3. Great work, fellas.

I hope the judge helps you guys out. Appearing as your lawyer? That would be excellent.

    Man, I love you guys.

  4. You guys are awesome.

I remember that when you guys first launched your page, I wrote a diary on Redstate about your project, and the editors saw that someone was writing something that had a Libertarian bent too it so they immediately banned me.

Just shows the typical republican mentality in this country where they sit in their own bubble.

  5. thanks for the love y’all! withrow we’ll definitely let you know when we head back your way.

if anyone has feedback on what me or jason could have done better — important points we should mention next time around, statements that are unclear, etc. — please do let us know so we can get better and have more of an impact for the freedom movement. thanks in advance!

  6. You guys could not have gotten better press.

  7. Saw you talking with Judge Napolitano – you mentioned the police erased the tape – There is a chance the footage can be recovered. It might be worth trying!

Keep up the honorable work guys.

  8. i live in jones county and have been arrested by atkins. i hope he is fired and never allowed to work in law enforcement again.

  9. again carefull with the tiger

  10. A warning about your drive from Auburn to Alabama: I-85 is 50 mph most of the way. Construction. Funny thing is, about a month ago the construction zone speed limit was 60. And as construction wraps up they need to…lower the speed limit? I know from personal experience that the speeding fine for 24 over costs more than getting MARV out of the impound lot in MS.

P.S. Look for a great sign somewhere near mile markers 35-40 that says either “SLOW DOWN: MY MOM WORKS HERE” or “SLOW DOWN: MY DAD WORKS HERE.”

  11. I only wish the sheriff’s department would have used their night sticks on you idiots. You northerners need to stay in New Hampshire out of south Mississippi. We don’t want you and don’t need you. I support sheriff Hodge.

  14. To Pete.

First of all. I’m glad you guys are alright. I remember meeting you at the Liberty Forum. First I wanted to ask. Was the police at all intimidated by your physical stature? You are a very strong man and usually police are hassling people that are physically and mentally weaker then they are.

You asked for feedback and I’d like to give you some. I don’t know whether or not you have a carry permit. But I would never disclose to an officer that I was carrying a firearm or that I had one stored in my car. The only time I could see my self informing them is if I was open carrying and was asked to step out of the car.

Some police don’t care one way or another if you have a firearm. But as you found out. These were less then honorable people. That’s the advice I got from opencarry.org and what I would suggest for you especially if your going to be traveling across the U.S. Stay safe and hope to see you in New Hampshire when I eventually move up there.

  15. I am from Jones County and i FULLY support the sheriff! he has done a wonderful job keeping idiots and drugs off of our streets. I have lived here for 18 years and i have never heard of our shriff’s office doing anything such as this unless it was needed so stop crying that you got your yankee butt beat because you deserved it and go back north. Sheriff Hodge and his officers are wonderful people doing great things and will continue to get idiots like yourselves off of our streets. if you would have not opened your smart mouths maybe you would have been let off a little easer i guess next time you come through Mississippi youll learn we dont put up with that mess here.

  16. Kaitlyn~ It is people like you that makes me what to give up some days. “if you would have not opened your smart mouths maybe you would have been let off a little easier” Let off from what? they didn’t do anything! And when have Police officers become so Divine you can’t ask a question or peacefully disobey without being brutalized? You have heard of freedom of speech right?

  17. it is because of people like this and CASEY that make our law inforcement have to take such actions. yes, we do have freedoms but why streetch them to them limit when you could simply obey and avoid conflict? so casey and others like you, you have no clue what this department does for this community and they are supported. so why dont you ” give up” and do society a favor. kk. thanks.

  20. Well Kaitlyn, unforutnately for you, youre going to be opening your wallet and paying the settlement for your inbred, redneck cops. I guess it doesnt really matter tho, because the south shall rise again! Right? LMAO!

Lets not forget, it wasnt until 1995 that mississippi abolished slavery. I imagine they are still upset about having to do that.

  21. well thank you for that ” history lesson” stan… but i do believe it was well before 1995, and race has nothing to do with this matter you are the one who brought that into the issue. so check yourself about who is being racist there darling. THE ONLY PROBLEM that our ” INBRED REDNECK COPS” have is drugheaded idiots and they are trying to solve this isuee and keep them off of our streets to provide a safer enviroment for our children so that we do not have the isues that you ” BIG CITY” people are halving. might i ask when the last kidnepping, shootout, family slaughter that you have heard about in mississippi was? thats what i thought so why dont you go check yourselves and get off the backs of our law inforcement

  22. Kaitlyn, have you ever considered a lawsuit against the board of education?

  23. <– Jones County resident

Again, thank you guys. @Stan – please, some of us in Mississippi have read and understand the Constitution. We arent all inbred rednecks.

The police are in the wrong here. Kaitlyn, you may want to educate yourself a bit on the law and please, understand what youre talking about before your mouth opens or your fingers type.

Alex Hodge may be the nicest guy in the world, but his officers did wrong.

    Ride on patriots!

  24. BTW, many Mississippians resent the way we are portrayed in the media or talked about by people who have never been here. You’d have a lot more people standing beside these guys for the cause of liberty here if the insults were kept to a minimum….both ways.

  25. Hi Jil. Please re-read my post. My comment was “inbred, redneck cops”. As you can see, i wasn’t referring to the people of Mississippi. Thanx.

  26. Constitutionally you have the right to remain silent, are innocent until proven guilty, right to be free from search and siezure without probable cause, under no obligation to carry papers when traveling (unless operating a motor vehicle).

Law enforcement has the right to ask questions but you do not have to answer.

I hope when sued Jones county deputies are held responsible for their unconstitutional criminal acts.

  27. I am glad you got on the Judge Napolitano’s show. I caught it on LRC. He didn’t seem to know much about you guys during the show, but I think he will start to really get it now that he has become familiar with your journey, and might wish to have you guys back on in the future. Glad to hear about you going back for a more thorough documentation on Jones county and their police.

  28. Samantha (From the Old Fart Thread), Bryan, Kaitlyn and a couple of others here are

mearly charter members of SADKI, along with many others both in Jones County and the nation

as a whole. SADKI (Socialist And Don’t Know It) membership is growing by leaps and bounds on

a daily basis. As obvious residents of Jones County, Samantha and Kaitlyn have become

anaesthetised to violations of their civil rights, as have so many others. Many of them could

care less what their civil rights even ARE as long as it doesn’t interfere with the next trip

to Wal-Mart, tanning bed, pedicurist, etc…

As a LifeLong resident of Jones County that may have more years of experience and

memory than Samantha and Kaitlyn, and definately more sense than Bryan, let me see if I can

    build a timeline of sorts.

Must have been around ‘83 or ‘84 that Richard Len Sloan was forced to resign from the

Laurel Police Dept. Seems that he was selling marijuana (What he didn’t smoke) to other

officers on the force. One got caught with it and rolled. He set Sloan up for a recorded meet

and got him busted. Since he played along with the game, the set up guy got to transfer to

the Laurel Fire Dept and keep his cushy state package.

Somewhere in this time frame, we need to insert Michele McLaurin. A crooked Justice

Court Judge who was caught selling “cattle that had died by other than slaughter.” For those

of you unfamiliar with cattle and slaughter house regulations, the Judge was selling cattle

that had fallen over dead in his fields. He wanted his money for them. He didn’t care if

somebody got sick from eating tainted beef.

When was the next time our Law enforcement demonstrated their willingness to serve

(Themselves)? I believe it was around ‘86 or ‘87 when the two LPD officers concocted their

plan to create a crime spree where they would always be the first on scene and most of the

stolen goods would end up being their own. Seems like one of their targets was Office

Products Center in downtown Laurel. I remember for a fact one target was the National Guard

Armory. Luckily, they couldn’t get into the weapons locker. Seems like a robbery in

Sandersville, another small Jones County town, finally got them caught.

But Law Enforcement has no markets cornered in the abuse of power category. Then

Mayor Susan Boone Vincent wanted to enact her own Orwellian policies when a group of people

on a social interaction site started complaining of her past policies. She wanted to issue

John/Jane Doe warrants and track down anyone who had posted there.

I quess the next stop on our little tour would have to be the “Southeast Mississippi

Drug Task Force” located just off Hwy 84 about five miles West of Laurel. This little Boy

Scout Camp was supposed to completely rid Jones, Jasper, Smith and Covington counties of all

drugs. What they ended up with was a bunch of thugs playing undercover cop. They would

confiscate drugs, money, weapons, and then what they didn’t use themselves, they would trade

for sexual favors from the women they knew were aproachable to such an arrangement.

And what about Robert Dreading? You know, the auxilliary Jones County Deputy that was

stopping/robbing people? That was just year before last.

All of this is in the past? Let it go? OK. Let’s talk about this wonderful sherrif we

now have called ALEX HODGE. My, how lucky we are now. Mr Hodge is going to make sure every

one of the citizens of Jones County are properly trained in how to conduct themselves when in

the presence of one of his officers. This will be considerably less expensive than teaching

his crew of thugs how to conduct themselves as keepers of the peace, much less law abiding

citizens. Only just recently Mr. Hodge aquired a couple of Harleys for the JCSO to better

patrol on. He liked riding one and a deputy liked riding the other. Until the deputy fell

down. Until it was learned the deputy didn’t have an “E” endorcement for motorcycles on his

license. He was operating a vehicle without a license. But that was fine, for he was a member

of the ruling class. Oh, one other thought; Mr. Hodge, do you still have all those Latinos

working for your pressure washing company? Are they all legal?

Now, Samantha or Kaitlyn, maybe you can enlighten me as to why I should have any

trust for, or show any respect to, the bunch of thugs that are in control of the law around

here? Why should I look the other way and be complacent to the corruption of this area that

was “Old School” 25 years ago? Why should I assume that they should have the benefit of the

doubt because they may be looking for a criminal, when I know for a fact they are looking for

some way to categorize ANYONE THEY SEE as a criminal, and most likely ARE one themselves?

No, Samantha. They’re not welcome to search my home anytime they want. And no, they’re not

welcome to search my vehicle on a whim. That doesn’t mean that I have something to hide. It

means I don’t like Gestapo Agents.

Pick my battles? Darn right I do. That’s why my IP used here is untraceable. (MHD Crew – Read

msg hdrs fully from your end, and you can contact me) I don’t intend on winding up like Chris

Kelly. (BTW, didn’t somebody say the law was involved in that, too?)

“They who can give up essential liberty to
obtain a little temporary safety, deserve
    neither liberty nor safety.”
