M.A.R.V & Crew Head to the Lone Star State
TEXAS – It was early Tuesday afternoon when we said our good-byes to Adam, Tracey and Baloo in Santa Fe. While on our way to Amarillo to visit the Big Texan for dinner, we picked up our first hitch hiker. He was a slender, bearded man with tattoo covered arms. In addition driving him 200 miles we fed and hydrated him (we picked him up in the desert). His beverage of choice was most of our beer. Like many of the people whose paths we cross, he was not the most sympathetic to Big Government. We hope that King Crazy — yeah that’s what he signed our guestbook as — finds happiness on the East Coast beaches he was traveling toward.

After parting with the “King” the MHD crew walked into the Big Texan restaurant, located off route 66, where Jason proclaimed, “I am here for my free steak!” It should be noted that the “free” steak costs $72 if you can’t finish it. Our cowboy waiter gave Jason the ‘waiver’ and was kind enough to offer some tips for finishing the 72oz monster. With the waiver signed, rules set, and cameras rolling it was on like Donkey Kong:
It was a valiant effort on his part and a memorable moment for MHD and Jason’s wallet. So with Jason stuffed we headed to a near by Flying J to get some rest.
The next day we rose early and drove through fog and light rain to the Wichita Falls Athletic Club, a hardcore crossfit gym that our good bud Dan Patrick told us about. There we met Justin, the manager, who gave us a tour of the unique gym. We all got in a great workout before interviewing owner Mark Rippetoe. He not only owns the gym but is a local libertarian and worried about where the government is trying to lead us. Stay tuned for this video.

Your training regimen was your flaw. The stomach shrinks and expands fairly quickly, but if you want to keep it expanded, you’ve got to eat large meals for days beforehand and then eat a moderate meal (more than a granola bar:) early in the morning. That’s the training regimen of eating champions:)
