Jones County Sheriff’s Department vs. MHD

We were unfortunate enough to be driving through Jones County, Mississippi where they locked all three of us in a cage for twelve hours after pepper spraying and chocking Jason. While Officer Atkins questioned Pete, Adam took video that was eventually deleted after the video camera was forcibly taken into police custody. They also seized and ripped apart our motorhome without a warrant.

Welcome to the police state. What do you expect when ex-prosecutors are the Judges and DOGS are the witnesses on your non-existent warrant. “Are you calling my dog a liar?” I would have replied “Are you claiming your dog can talk, Officer Doolittle?”
I plan on keepin up with this as close as possible. Your interview on Fox news was terrific and making this a national argument point a good move. If and when you come back to Jones county we’ll have plenty of support for you. There are a ton of young people who are sick of being profiled and treated in this manner just because we don’t have the power granted to the police, and in this country, the police just aren’t supposed to have that kind of power. We love you guys and we thank you for making this known and putting up with the trouble that goes along with it.
I am a resident in Jones County and i am very ashamed that this has happened in my town and feel horribly for you guys. The city police is 10 times worse than the sheriff’s dept is in this town. Other than this incident the sheriff’s dept has been doing a much better job with the new sheriff but that does not in any way excuse the way you were treated. Cops in general in our area are very crooked. I again apologize for the way you guys were treated and trust me i and many fellow Jones County people know how it feels to be treated the way you guys were treated! You guys are doing a wonderful thing!

you guys are Luck thats all that Happened. I was raised there & I know. there are alot of good people there, & Jones Co. Gets a bad rap due to all the meth around that area. I-59 is a main Vein for a drug route. good Luck guys & follow what you feel is right.
i have also been abused by this department at this same detention facility. was brought in on a speeding ticket then forcibly strip searched and kept in a “cold room” with only my ripped underwear. class action civil suit soon to follow. it’s easy for the sheriff to make trite sound bites for news which tends to whitewash the injustice for those that don’t know the truth. but the close scrutiny of the federal courts will expose the injustice. we intend to shine the light when we pull over that rock to see what’s hiding under there. you must expect those who uphold the law to also abide by the law. they can’t pick and choose which ones serve them best. i am a free American and intend to help others to be free. there are several who don’t have a voice either because of conditioning or poverty, but some will stand, but we need help. will you help?

I myself was assaulted on my front porch TWICE . Once while in Police Custady . Had a whole bunch of charges against me , cost a good bit for one nite stay in that BIG FREEZING cage .In fact I quit breathing TWICE before being taken to local Hospital .Had to sign papers saying that I was responsible for the Medical Charges(2600 bucks)(350 bucks unrefundable BAIL) . If I had not signed them I would have DIED there . One cannot use the Castle Doct . for self defense in Laurel .
Word to the wise , “Find a way AROUND Jones County if you can , ”

McIntosh County sheriff, undersheriff charged
The allegation involves the embezzlement of money confiscated from a detained motorist.
Why did you remove my discussion post from your website regarding the Jones County incident? It seems as if all you want are negative comments regarding Jones County Sheriff’s department.
That alone is enough to make me re consider any support you would have from me.
I am empathetic to the Libertarian point of view but I’m not anti local law enforcement. You would have more credibility if kept the discussion board open to differing opinions. As it is now, one look at your discussion board and one could assume that the opinions of those listed are likely your own.
Now your just another radical group with a cause.
i have a so true and similar story of how these crooks are out to try to be the “BOSS HOG” of jones co. I live in the county and would love to tell you abou it. they need to be stopped. contact me and let me tell you about it.

In review of Mr Keith’s partial CV listed on his website I have to ask on what they printed the diploma(s)? The man can’t properly use your and you’re. Yea, if I ever need an “investigator” you will be right at the top of my list. NOT.

mr i m literate comment. not to agree with mr. keith, as i don’t what was removed, but as mr. keith used to be a LEO (law enforcement officer) and does have relationships with that community his content may be pro-LEO to some extent. but his comments may have some merit, and the attempt to marginalize him personally without disputing his content indicates that at least his point must be sound, or he’s struck a nerve or both. anything to add concerning his content? i would say that most certainly this group does have a cause, but by what definition is mr. keith labeling this a “radical” group? sounds like language a LEO may use after reading the recent report from homeland security warning them about “radical right wing extremists”. i guess mr. keith is comfortable using inflammatory pro-LEO labels to describe “peaceful” liberty loving individuals which i would argue to be a majority of this country. other than the convenient label used by mr. keith, i haven’t seen any indication that these guys are “radical” at all. in fact, i think the tactics used by this sheriff’s administration are radical and that they operate outside the boundaries of the law and their “qualified immunity”. that’s a radical group if you ask me. the danger of that report as well as that label mr. keith provided takes behavior typical of conservatives and recasts it as radical and right-wing extremism. http://www.cheatseekingmissiles.com/2009/04/15/im-not-a-radical-right-wing-extremist-but/

The cause and concept of liberty actually is “radical”. It was in 18th century and it is today. Liberty is a radical departure from where we are now.

Samuel Adams was a “radical”
Ron Paul is a “radical”
Lew Rockwell is a “radical”
Tom Woods is a “radical”
There is nothing negative, wrong, bad or dishonorable about it. To the contrary, to be “radical” is to get to the root of the problem; it is honorable, right and just, and therefore it is the road less traveled. I am proud to be one as well.

These boys didn’t respect their authority, so they made them pay. It’s wrong, but that’s the way it is. And you are kidding yourself if you think it is limited to the rural south. Until more people start standing up for their rights,they will continue to not have any. Unfortunately, most of us can’t afford a night in jail.
@Mike I hear you – we know that what the Jones County Sheriff’s Department is not exclusive to that county or state. Hopefully, like you said, since we and others are standing up for our rights it’ll snowball and encourage others to do the same. Especially seeing the outpouring of support.
I know this is late, as I just found your website, but did you guys tray any data recovery tools on your camera. Historically I have had excellent luck recovering accidentally deleted items from camera and video cameras. Probably a moot point at this point, but in the future it would be worth a shot. I highly doubt the LEO’s knew enough to properly wipe the device so it wouldn’t be recoverable.

What a crock the Jones County Justice Court is! Ridiculous, saying the least. Judge Lyons was a thug in high school; still is, but in a black robe.
As for Mr. Keith…..what another crock……around town tald is that he is a drug addict, all kinds of problems….I could go on and on and on….a real kiss up to whomever he perceives can do him the most good at the moment.
