Jimmy McCall Fights Montgomery, AL City Hall to Keep His Home
On our way to Auburn to meet with the good folks at the Mises Institute we decided to make a stop in Montgomery, where resident Jimmy McCall detailed his fight against city officials to keep and use his property as he sees fit. Unfortunately, it’s a story that’s all-too-common, but thanks to people like Jimmy and organizations like the Institute for Justice (not involved in his case) others are starting to learn of such rights-violations and push back.
Many thanks go to David Beito, Chairman of the Alabama State Advisory Committee of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights and professor of history at the University of Alabama, who clued us onto this story.

Thanks for sharing this story. ED abuse has become an epidemic problem. Good luck, Jimmy, keep fighting city hall!
That’s an amazing story and interview. It reminds me of the movie: The Simple Life of Noah Dearborn starring Sidney Poiter. Good luck Mr. McCall. I hope you can prevail against this injustice and tyranny. You’re my Hero.
