MHD shares “Heinous Propaganda” with Canadians Despite their Government
CANADA/US BORDER CHECKPOINT – Less than a week ago we were on our way to visit some freedom-loving friends in Canada before being thwarted by a well-armed gang who searched our vehicle and held us for five hours. They call themselves the “Canada Border Services Agency” and are responsible for harassing and shaking down peaceful people who want to freely move about North America. More on Canadian border thuggery here.
We were told that we were under investigation for “heinous propaganda” and pornography. On the latter charge, if porn is illegal in Canada it makes me want to visit them much less. But as far as heinous propaganda goes, I’m not sure why they thought we’d be wasting our time peddling “hatefully or shockingly evil” speech. Our message is about peace and friendship, which is why we promote a voluntary society – one without government violence.
Our logo is on the exterior of MARV, which, on it’s own, isn’t political. Among the other logos is Ron Paul’s Campaign for Liberty, an organization that grew out of Congressman Ron Paul’s reLOVEolution. And Dr. Paul himself spoke to us about the importance of compassion and self-government – ideas with which we very much agree. Inside MARV we have a couple hundred stickers from LibertyStickers.com reflecting a lot of views from the freedom movement.
If you’re an authority figure I can understand why you’d think that our speech is heinous: WE HATE VIOLENCE. Especially when it is done in our name and paid for by money stolen from us by a criminal gang that calls itself government. We use education and persuasion to emphasize morality and peace, to eventually put government out of business. As for the border checkpoints – I’d like to see them turned into Tim Hortons Coffee Shops or something that people actually want.
So, despite the fact that we weren’t able to connect with our liberty-loving friends in Canada in person our ideas did. Thanks to the efforts of the Western Standard’s Managing Editor, Kalim Kassam our message of peace and freedom was able to reach the attendee of the 2009 Liberty Summer Seminar. A symbolic victory for us and bad news for the institution of government in Canada and around the world. Their days are numbered and the future belongs to the peaceful.
