Got What it Takes to be a Fellow Traveler?

JACKSON, WI – When Jason and I hit the road we had planned for our good bud Tom Pearson to join us a month later. A week into our trek we received an email from Adam Mueller, who had heard of us from Allison Gibbs when at the Campaign for Liberty‘s regional conference in St. Louis, which noted that he’d “do anything” to join us. We accepted!
Adam was slated to ride with until we picked up Tom but after Tom had to back out, Adam rode with us for the next two months – from Chicago to LA, across the Southwest and Deep South (including our unplanned stop thanks to the Jones County Sheriff’s Department in Mississippi) and up the I-95 corridor to a place we all will soon call home: Keene, New Hampshire. Then he returned home to make some coin and be with his fam. During that time he met and interviewed a number of principled freedom fighters, set MARV’s top-speed record and developed many life-long friendships.
After that, Ryan Maddox who had recently moved to Keene, came aboard. I had known Ryan via the social network of a now-defunct anti-State organization (for the moral alternative visit/join the Free Agents Network). His trip has been a bit unroutine when compared to Adam’s – we asked him to fare alone across a couple of states, we’ve had oasis-like stops thanks to rolling by my parents house in Findlay, Ohio and Adam’s place in Jackson, Wisconsin, and he’s yet to drive MARV – which underscores the differences that various legs of our trip entail.
I say this just to be straight-up, if we’re fortunate to be able to call you a fellow traveler one day, the sooner you know that it’s no vacation the better. We usually work from the moment we wake up until the time we go down. Much of our time is spend driving, editing videos, writing blog posts, updating our various sites, nailing down logistics (the closest Starbucks/Panera/Wal-Mart/Flying J’s, interview and meetup locations, etc.), responding to emails and Facebook messages, giving MARV some TLC, connecting with fellow fans of freedom at meetups and more. And we’ve all had to give up things to be on the road. Despite, or more-accurately, because of the hard work, it’s fun and I really do believe we are helping to advance the voluntary society.
Adam is jumping back onboard for our Return to Jones County but we still have a few slots to fill. If you have the time/interest to become a fellow traveler with Motorhome Diaries please let us know what leg(s) you’re interested in and what skills you can bring to the table to help us advance our mission by emailing us at: mail[at]motorhomediaries[dot]com. And remember, if you can’t join us on one of these legs, we’re always looking for input about potential story ideas!

Interested but the wife is giving me flack. We’ll see.
If I wasn’t in school I would hop on tour in Texas. I’ll be looking for you guys in Dallas hopefully.
Pity you didn’t ask me 25 years ago.
Heck yeah I’ve got what it takes! I have more energy, more stories and more curiosity than most human beings. That and I can talk to a brick wall so there aren’t many I can’t relate to and things sure never get boring with me!
