Friends of Liberty Meet in Fullerton

Last night we rolled into sunny Orange County. Our first order of business was to make a more-slick Motorhome Diaries flyer (we had been using some we made in a pinch before we hit the road). We collaborated on the layout and the text for a new flyer, found an Office Depot and 20min later walked out with 800 copies (which we’ll soon post as a tab on our homepage if you have the time/interest to print and distribute them) printed to distribute over the coming days.

Then we rolled up to Slidebar Cafe, the venue our good bud Bill Goodwin from FreedomPolitics.com selected for the meetup. (If you’re not familiar with FreedoomPolitics.com you should be. It’s a project of the Orange Co. Register, the flagship newspaper of Freedom Communications, which is perhaps the most-principled media company around thanks in large part to its founder, R.C. Hoiles, — it advocates for decrim of all substances the State now deems illicit and was the only major paper to speak out against the internment of Japanese-Americans during WWII. Pretty solid street cred.) We parked in the loading zone and gladly put a big Freedom Politics banner in the windshield to help attract other fans of freedom.

There we met and got to know many awesome folks, many of whom we were fortunate to interview, including Adam from MarijuanaMuscle.com pictured below with me, Jason and Adam, Mr. Goodwin, Tony from Friends For Fullerton’s Future, and Steve Greenhut from the O.C. Register. Be on the lookout for those videos in the next couple of days.

Later in the night Slidebar started to fill up, and it was only when walking through the venue (we’d been hanging out on the patio) that I heard some sweet sweet tunes — which for me is a descriptive for metal. My ears led my feet into another room where I was able to catch the last 20min of Run Lola Run’s set. They definitely brought the energy and had some solid breakdowns. It’ll be interesting to see where they end up.
