Escape from DC
When Pete turned on M.A.R.V. II’s ignition, at approximately 9:30AM yesterday, the Motorhome Diaries began. It was a beautiful day to start our trip as we drove by the Jefferson memorial in DC with the Cherry blossoms in full bloom and blue skies overhead. I should have left the capital city a long time ago but I’ll miss my friends, many of whom spend their days behind enemy lines fighting government control. Best wishes to all of them and I look forward to continuing our work together.
Upon leaving we did see a sign of hope. The following house, on the outskirts of DC, had the Gadsden Flag displayed as what can only be seen as an act of defiance against a government who consistently treads on us. I hope to see a lot more symbols like this as we search for freedom in America.
