REDDING, CA – Last Wednesday at our Portland meetup we had the chance to connect with Ed Wood who works as a nurse in Portland area hospitals. Based on his experiences there – seeing the incentives inherent in a system where people are provided services but not responsible for their payment coupled with ever-growing governmental intervention – he’s not exactly the biggest fan of continuing down this very-real road to serfdom.

I first crossed paths with Ed last fall online, in a now-defunct social network where he created a group for healthcare professionals. When we parted ways a few days ago he noted his intention to start a similar group on the community at the Free Agents Network. Hopefully there, he and others active in this area can share ideas and work together to educate their colleagues about the things he touches on in this video.

  1. It’s not surprising. Nurses are working class folks who see first-hand the incredible fraud, waste, and abuse that accompanies government health plans.

  2. Texas Children’s hospital has 3 floors of I.T. people, and 8 nurses on duty. The nurses spend all their time farting with government required computers – 20 minutes for what used to take 2 minutes for a paper chart.
I think everyone should pay their own doctor bills. When someone doesn’t pay their bill, then the Government should find them guilty of stealing, pay the bill for them, and payroll deduct 10 percent of their income and withhold refunds until it is paid. To hell with Insurance companies.

  3. Hello, I’m a nurse student and this post is very helpul to me. Thank you!

  4. This is not the case… if the working era people are organized to work on particular behalf… its their duty to work according.
