We rolled into Chicago where thankfully our bud Arno had a parking spot waiting for us. After having him sign our guestbook we jumped into a cab and headed to Rockit Bar & Grill. We couldn’t wait to celebrate our time with friends and the fact that we had completed one week on the road. Shots arrived early and kept on coming (I’m still recovering from the fun). I saw some old friends and met some new ones that night. Thanks to Richard Lorenc for setting this up with the help of Nikki Sullivan (who unfortunately couldn’t join us since she was out of state – boo!). I’d like to also thank Dave who handed me $50 for gas. I was pleasantly surprised to see some old DC friends – Christy & Sharon – on the scene also. We hung our for a while at a few bars then returned to M.A.R.V. for the first of what will be many after-parties.

We woke us the next morning groggily as Arno knocked on our door. He had a rental car and drove us to pick up Adam (welcome! welcome! welcome!) and to get some breakfast at Yolk. Setting an important precedent that will hopefully last the entire month Adam is with us, he generously picked up the tab (thanks!).

Next stop, Iowa where we’ll witness a mind-numbing amount of corn fields.
