Carl Graham Talks About Montana’s Climate of Freedom
COUR D’ALENE, ID – Earlier this week when in Bozeman we had the chance to sit down with Carl Graham, founder and head of the Montana Policy Institute. As is clear, he’s a pretty solid guy doing some good work in Montana (which, as Jason recently touched on, seems to be home to a lot of pro-liberty folks). The Montana Policy Institute is guided by a solid set of principles as is clear by its mission statement:
The Montana Policy Institute will equip Montana citizens and decision makers to better argue for state public policy options that respect individual freedom, expect individual responsibility, and that look to government as an avenue of last rather than first resort when addressing Montana issues.
In addition to taking time out of his schedule to talk with us, Carl was instrumental in securing a speaking slot for MHD at the regular Campaign for Liberty / Young Americans for Liberty meeting help on the Montana St. University campus. Thanks for making our stop in Bozeman so productive and fun!

“Creeping Nanny State”…I love that evocative tag; it fits perfectly. And Nanny has a flak jacket and an H&K machine pistol, too.
Montana’s great for liberty, but in my humble opinion, our great Republic, Texas, is even greater. Here in San Antonio, the AmericaAgain! project was born. Not since The War to Enslave the States divided and conquered the sovereign People of America (North & South), have we ever figured out how the mercantilists DID it. But now we have, and we’re using the plans of Madison and Jefferson to ENFORCE the Constitution, pass OUR reform laws, and close our checkbooks to the Congress’ IRS fraud, cutting off their illegal supply line.
Learn how YOU can take powerful action as the MPI is doing in Montana — in fact, FAR more powerful action, every day, from your own home and on YOUR terms, against YOUR three members of Congress — from now on:

(Read the Declaration; some folks say it’s made them weep for joy! Then read the FAQs. Excuse our dust, this is only a very temporary site.)

And to learn how 67 million Americans are non-filers yet OBEYING the Tax Code, read the Tax Honesty Primer:

“Good for freedom” means enforcing a government Constitution? No, thanks.
Sincerely,
Montanarchist
Kirsten,
Yes, enforcing the US Constitution is good for freedom, exactly.
The problem with anarchists is that you have no proof that your ideas work. No anarchist society in human history has suceeded in securing freedom, except for the best-armed leaders of the anarchist junta.
On the other hand, the American society, from Jamestown Colony in 1607 until Lincoln’s federal takeover in 1861…that’s 254 years!…DID secure freedom as demonstrably as any society on earth, ever.
The U.S. Constitution, if enforced from now on, can again secure that freedom. Yes, even freedom for anarchists to spout improbable, unfounded theories of human society.
